High Tech HiJacking [Video]

Technology.  It helps us get things done faster than ever before.  It allows us to communicate anywhere.  It has virtually made the world smaller.  Technology, be it computers, cell phones, or even ID cards, develops at an extremely fast pace and saves us time and money, but at what cost?

Many credit card companies now issue credit cards with embedded RFIDs (radio frequency identification), with promises of enhanced security and speedy transactions.  It’s supposed to make paying for things faster and easier – just wave your credit or debit card over a scanner and you’ve paid.

In the following video, Security expert Walt Augustinowicz took a stroll along Beale Street in Memphis where, as witnessed by CBS Affiliate WREG, he was able to swipe the credit card information from passers-by with just $8 worth of gear that can be bought on eBay.

Technology is not 100% secure or free from faults. But, is it worth the time savings to use these cards? Give us your opinion in the comments section below

Wow why not just broadcast you account numbers on TV. What did they think was going to happen when you info becomes wireless.
