Emails purportedly coming from American Express are making the rounds to millions of inboxes this month. These emails are a request for Amex customers to update their accounts. See the screenshot below.

- Fake American Express Email
The link in the email takes you to an American Express website lookalike. When the requested information is entered, it gets sent to cybercrooks.
This kind of phishing attempt is always on the rise around the holiday seasons when people do a lot of online shopping. My Tech Team cautions all to remember that banks and financial institutions NEVER ask you to review any kind of personal information by email or via online forms. If you receive an email purportedly coming from any financial institution asking for any personal information, report it immediately to that institution to help fight off these cybercrooks.
