Do you have an Android-based phone (such as the Droid on Verizon or the Cliq on T-Mobile) and you are looking to extend the capabilities? Try these applications to add extra value to your smartphone purchase.
Visual Voicemail
Both Verizon and T-Mobile offer Visual Voicemail for your Android devices. Visual Voicemail allows the user to easily see all the messages in an inbox format, return calls, play messages individually, and remove messages from the server. It uses your own contact list to show you who the call was from and gives you many options for returning the message such as calling, e-mailing or texting (as long as you have this info in your contact database). To get Visual Voicemail, search for voicemail, tmobile, or verizon in the Android Marketplace.

Yellowbook
The Yellowbook app for Android allows you to search yellow page listings, rate and review places you have been, save listings to your address book, and search for businesses hands-free with your voice. If you have GPS enabled, you can even find businesses in relation to your location. To get the Yellowbook app, search for yellowbook on the Android Market.

eBuddy
eBuddy for Android combines all of your chat accounts (Yahoo! IM, MSN, AIM, Facebook, GTalk, etc) into one application for easy communication with friends, coworkers and clients. The simple interface and easy-to-use account setup had me up and running in minutes. To get it, search for ebuddy on the Android Marketplace.

ColorNote
Need to jot something down quickly or make a list? Try ColorNote, where you can make ToDos, grocery lists, tasks lists, notes, and more! It has a sticky note widget included, and you can password protect your notes or back them up to a memory card. To get it, search for colornote on the Android Marketplace.

Fandango
Browse local showtimes, watch trailers, purchase tickets and more with the Fandango Android App. You can use your phone’s GPS capabilities to find showtimes near your current location and get Google Maps directions. To get this app, search for fandango on the Android Marketplace.
